Upasna Janu, B.D.S., M.S.D.-Periodontist

Dr. Upasna Janu is originally from New Delhi, India. She spent 5 years in training and completed her dental education by earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Bapuji Dental College & Hospital in India. From there she was accepted into the Indiana University School of Dentistry and earned her certificate in Periodontics and a Masters in Dental Science. She also received a Diplomate certificate in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery and is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology. Board
certification in periodontology denotes someone who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty, including demonstrating a comprehensive mastery of all phases of periodontal disease and treatment and in the placement of dental implants.

Dr. Janu practices all phases of periodontal services and optimization of oral health in Northwest Indiana, with a particular interest and expertise in the health and wellbeing of the gum tissue as it relates to total body wellness: LANAP and LAPIP treatments, soft tissue grafting (root coverage procedures), crown lengthening, cosmetic gingival contouring, frenectomy, biopsy, extractions, implants, and treatment of failing implants.

Dr. Janu’s favorite season is Winter and she loves the outdoors. She currently resides in the area with her husband and son. Dr. Janu is looking forward to being able to help you have the best smile!
