Wednesday, February 8th, 2012: "Immediate Full-Arch Provisional Restorations" presented by Astra Tech Dental and Dr. Barry Franzen (For doctors & hygienists) Dr. Franzen has maintained a private practice limited to Prosthodontics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which includes all phases of prosthodontics. Implant restorative dentistry is a primary focus of the practice. This course will review the indications, patient selection, preoperative preperation, intraoperative methods and postoperative methods to provide the patient with a full arch fixed provisional, implant borne, within a four-hour period of time. This program will be held at Centennial Park Banquets in Munster from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Check in begins at 5:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. 2 hours of CE credit will be provided. Wednesday, February 15th, 2012: "CPC in Oral Pathology" presented by Dr. Jay Platt (For doctors & hygienists)This course will focus on 10-12 clinical cases that we will go over, establish a differential diagnosis and "treat". This program will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster. Wednesday,February 29th, 2012: "Fully Edentulous Implant Restorations: Solutions for Your Practice" presented by Straumann and Dr. Corbin Partridge (For doctors & hygienists) Dr. Partridge completed his 4 year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the IU Medical Center and Methodist Hospital in 2005. He also served in the US Army during which he served a tour as the Executive Officer of the Head and Neck Surgery Team with the 47th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq. He currently practices in Indianapolis where he has a private practice. This program will address the physical complexities of edentulism and requirements of a comprehensive pre-treatment analysis. It will also introduce a patient classification system (SAC), which uses obejective pre-treatment assessment of the patient to predict likely treatment difficulty. Patient treatments incorporating over-dentures, fixed detachable prostheses and metal ceramic fixed dental prostheses will be discussed, along with recommendations for everyday practice. CAD/CAM technology will be introduced that assists in reducing treatment cost while improving durability and maintenance. Wednesday, March 7th, 2012: "Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office" presented by Dr. Jay Platt (For doctors, hygienists and assitants) The review will cover general treatment as well as how to recognize and treat specific emergencies. Some of the situations that will be discussed are syncope, allergy, angina, seizures, asthma and local anesthetic complications among others. This program will be held at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Check in begins at 5:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. 2 hours of CE credit provided. Wednesday, April 11th, 2012: "Yearly OSHA and HIPAA Review" presented by Kathy Nahrwold, LDH (For doctors, hygienists, assistants and staff) This program will cover a yearly review of OSHA and HIPAA standards for the entire staff. This program will be held at Centennial Park Banquets in Munster from noon to 3:00 p.m. Check in and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. 3 hours of CE credit provided.
